Terms & booking conditions

These terms apply to your use of thegame-yard.com and to visits, bookings and events at The Game Yard, 2641 Northtown Way, Highland, IL 62249. By booking or visiting, you agree to them and to our House rules.

Bookings

• Lane reservations are made online through our booking provider, Off The Couch, whose checkout terms also apply to payment. Walk-ins may be accommodated during slow hours but are not guaranteed.
• A lane reservation is for one hour of axe throwing for up to 6 people at $25 per person. Additional guests may attend, but seating is limited per lane.
• Your reservation time starts at the booked time. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in, the release and coaching. If part of your group is late, we will be as accommodating as possible, but reservations that follow yours cannot be moved; the people present may start throwing once signed in and trained.
• After your axe hour, use of The Yard games is included at no extra charge for as long as you like during opening hours, subject to availability and the house rules.

Cancellations and changes

We require 48 hours' notice to cancel or change a reservation. With 48 hours' notice you receive a full credit to play at a different time. Reservations cancelled with less notice, and no-shows, are not refunded or credited. Reservation fees are not refunded where a guest is removed for a safety violation under the house rules.

Private parties and corporate events

• Private and corporate parties start at $500 for 2 hours, with a 2-hour minimum, in each case for exclusive use of the facility for up to 65–70 people. Additional hours are available; pricing is confirmed in writing when the event is booked.
• Event bookings are confirmed by email once details and any deposit requested at booking are received. The cancellation policy above applies to events unless the confirmation states otherwise.
• You may bring in food, have it delivered, or have the event catered. Drinks are sold at the bar; outside drinks are not permitted.

Age, safety and conduct

• Guests must be 12 years or older, and guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No one under 18 is permitted in the facility after 7:00 pm.
• Every participant must sign a release before entering the throwing area. A parent or legal guardian signs for guests under 18.
• Closed-toe shoes are required in the throwing area; no high heels.
• You must be 21 to consume alcohol. Guests who arrive intoxicated or become intoxicated will not be permitted to throw and may be asked to leave without refund.
• Our coaches' and staff's directions must be followed at all times. Unsafe behavior, horseplay, or breach of the house rules may result in removal from the throwing area or the facility without refund.
• All axes are provided by The Game Yard. Guests may not bring axes or any other throwing implement onto the premises.

Gift cards

Gift cards are sold through Off The Couch, are redeemable toward lane bookings at The Game Yard, are not redeemable for cash except where required by law, and must be presented at the time of booking or check-in.

Liability

Axe throwing and the other games we offer involve a risk of injury. You participate voluntarily and at your own risk, as set out in the release you sign. To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, The Game Yard, its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your participation or from your failure to follow the house rules or staff directions, except where caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Personal property

We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property. Please keep valuables with you.

Photography

Guests may take photos and video for personal use. We may photograph events and public sessions for our own social media and marketing; tell a member of staff if you would prefer not to appear.

Website

Content on this site belongs to The Game Yard or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission. The site is provided as is; we do our best to keep prices, hours and details accurate, and the booking calendar is the authoritative source for availability and price at the time of booking. We link to and embed third-party services (Off The Couch, Google, YouTube) that operate under their own terms.

Changes

We may update these terms and will post the current version here with its effective date. Bookings are governed by the terms in force when they are made.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Madison County, Illinois.
